As early as 2276BC, Pharaoh Pebi II said of the Baka Pygmy people that they were "the dancing dwarfs of the gods from the land of the spirits."

The Baka Pygmy statue is understood to bring wealth and luck to its owner. This sturdy statue of the Baka pigmy is carved from indigenous wood and is a portrayal of a people known as the ''kings of the Congolian forest'' who strongly believe and revere Jengi as the only way to Komba, their god and protector.

What is interesting about the Baka Pygmies is they also believe that Jengi as their intercessor is omnipresent within the forests, exacting punishment on all transgressors who would wish to bring them harm and evil.
